Five estates across Tuscany, 500 hectares farmed sustainably, and a portfolio that spans the region’s most important denominations. Founded in Chianti Classico in 1967, Carpineto wines now reach 70 countries worldwide.
Founded in Chianti Classico in 1967 by two young friends – Giovanni Carlo Sacchet and Antonio Mario Zaccheo – whose families still manage the winery today, Carpineto is now one of the most respected names in Italian wine. The estate farms 500 hectares of owned vineyards, all managed sustainably and with a carbon-neutral footprint, across five properties in Tuscany’s historic winemaking zones: Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Brunello di Montalcino, Alto Valdarno, and the Maremma.
Internationally recognised for the elegance and longevity of its great reds – from traditional DOCGs to Supertuscans – Carpineto was also the first winery to produce sparkling wines in Chianti Classico, back in the 1980s. Alongside its focus on winemaking, Carpineto is committed to cultural and educational outreach: in Montepulciano, visitors can explore the Le Macchine del Vino Museum, which showcases more than 180 historic agricultural tools; while in the Dudda estate, the Wine Library is open to the public, housing rare back vintages of Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile, and Brunello.
The cellar experience includes guided tastings, vineyard walks, picnics, and outdoor lunches – offering direct insight into the values that define Carpineto: authenticity, consistent quality, and a deep connection to the land. A model of Italian excellence, Carpineto is listed in the National Register of Historic Brands and is a Corporate Golden Donor of the FAI, a reflection of its commitment to protecting Italy’s landscape and cultural heritage.
